VENUE: Hexham Winter Gardens
Sarah & Andrew married at Hexham Winter Gardens on a beautiful day in May. They chose a diy venue so that they could have the freedom to create a day that reflected their personality as a couple as well as accommodating quite a large number of guests.
We helped with the planning right from the start offering advice on suppliers and most importantly, timings of the day.
Sarah wanted simple and elegant styling when it came to dressing the venue. They opted for long banqueting tables which suited the family style dining that the caterers were providing. Because we needed plenty of space at the tables for platters of food we created tall arrangements with hydrangea, eucalyptus and pink spray roses.
These were interspersed with glass vases filled with a pillar candle and sprigs of foliage. Strings of ivy wrapped round the pillars and festoon lighting finished off the look. Tall arrangements like this work really well in rooms with high ceilings.
Sarah wore a beautiful white dress with a lace top and her bridesmaids wore soft pink flowing dresses. We created a super luxe bouquet of pink peonies for the bride.
For her maids we used white roses, eucalyptus and pink peonies in their bouquets.
Their day was a relaxed affair with lots of laughter, surrounded by friends and with an emphasis on family. Sarah, Andrew and their families had put so much into organising the day and everything was planned to perfection. We stepped in on the day and coordinated the whole affair to make sure that everything ran smoothly.
