Couple: Rosie & David
Date: 16th August 2016
Venue: As You Like It
Rosie & David got married at the wonderfully quirky As You Like It in Jesmond, Newcastle.
Rosie, a school teacher, was incredible creative and had meticulously planned the styling of their wedding. Getting married in the middle of August meant that she ad around 4 weeks off work to prepare, craft and make almost all of her venue decor with the help of her parents and David. What she needed was someone to bring her vision to life on the day.
We met at a wedding fair a few months before the wedding and my stand was dressed in a style that closely suited her own. Rosie said that she thought I ‘just got’ her sense of style and could recreate it for her. With pleasure.
I dressed her chairs with handmade sashes and laid runner on tables. Each centrepiece was slightly different with a mix of teapots of flowers, vintage cameras, globes, postcards, Polaroid images and piles of books. Rosie’s dad made countless paper windmills out of old maps and individual envelopes of map paper confetti.
They had a really fun day and Rosie’s dress was ahead of the trend in a blush pink.
