Real Wedding – Lindsey & Martin

Lindsey and Martin married in Spring and completely embraced the season with fresh, vibrant colours and lots of Easter eggs.  Ellingham Hall is a very elegant venue so the styling and decor needed to complement the surroundings. Lindsey didn’t want a theme but instead used the colour of her maid of honours dress as an anchor and built her style around that.

After talking about flowers that Lindsey liked and wanted to include we designed beautiful bouquets with tulips, vibernum, ranunculus, roses, wax flower, hypericum and astilbe for the bride and bridesmaids. The flower girls had gorgeous flower crowns made with wax flower as well as small posies to carry.

The guest tables were dressed with a simple ceramic jug filled with flowers and we made a lush foliage garland speckled with the same flowers.

The rest of the room was dressed in similar colours using coral coloured sashes on the chairs and a lemon yellow tulip at each place setting.

Our vintage bike welcomed guests at the front door and pointed out the way to the ceremony.

Real Wedding – Carly & Mike

Carly & Mike had a super relaxed day at the amazing Crook Hall and Gardens which sits in the heart of Durham city centre but is actually a beautiful collection of seven gorgeous gardens.

They came to me to help with styling the day from the initial design, sourcing wedding decorations, setting up on the day as well as providing all the flowers for the bridal party and the guest tables.

The weather was kind enough on the day to allow for both the ceremony and wedding breakfast to be held outside. We dressed the gazebo outside with trailing ribbons in rainbow colours and dressed the chairs lining the aisle to match.

Carly & Mike wanted to reflect themselves as a couple (which I always recommend) and so we incorporated a musical theme using records and tables named after their favourite albums.

They wanted a bright colour scheme inspired by their weeding cake so we picked up these colours with giant balloons and also in the flowers we used.

Real Wedding – Sophie & Phil

Sophie and Phil married at Hexham Winter Gardens on 14th July 2015. They had meticulously planned a relaxed and informal, fun filled day for their guests and needed someone to help bring it all together on the day. I came on board as the on the day coordinator and made sure their day ran really smoothly.

We set their tables up with sequin runners and gorgeous florals in jam jars and milk jugs from Secret Garden Flowers. Festoon lighting and fairy lights were strung above the tables and chiavari chairs finished off the look.

Woodman’s Awnings from Curious Tent Hire provided shelter in case of bad weather (which we luckily didn’t have) but they made a great spot for an outdoor bar.

They hired vintage crockery from me to serve their main course and the tea and coffee at the end of the meal.

The couple opted for a BBQ from Jacksons to go with the summery feel of the day.

A band in the evening got the party in full swing.

Real Wedding – Nikki & David

Nikki & David were among the first couples to celebrate their wedding at the new venue, Healey Barn in Northumberland. It’s a beautiful venue, lending itself to a natural, rustic feel and this is exactly what Nikki and David created.

Nikki had arranged all of her own decor but needed someone to set it all out for them on the day so I helped to hang lots of hessian bunting and paper lanterns, dress the tables with hessian runners, mason jars of gypsophila and hydrangea and handmade table numbers.

Real Wedding – Karen & Simon

So I have to confess that this is actually my own wedding. We married in a simple registry office ceremony at home in the north east in August 2015 and then had a big old bash in Normandy a couple of weeks later. We found the most fabulous 17th century farmhouse that was previously a wine cellar and just fell in love with the place. We had to think really carefully about the decor as we would be taking everything with us ourselves in a car so I had to get creative with how I would style the wedding day.

I used lots of ribbons, paper pinwheels and paper lanterns to decorate the barn and outdoor terrace and we made our own signs from old pallettes. I made a bespoke grey chevron table runner for the top table and sprayed lots of jars and bottles in our colours and used them as vases all over the venue.

I found a fantastic wholesale flower supplier in Paris who delivered to the venue a couple of days before and a group of the guests helped to put everything together the day before for the bouquets, button holes and table arrangements.
